Caperton Society Blog

Society members now have a new collection to peruse! I have added a Birth Records link under the Vital Records menu. This records collection includes source records up to about 1910. The listing only shows a minimum of information, however, the actual document may reveal considerably more detail. once example is that of the parents name. in the listing, due to space constraints it may only say Samuel Caperton which as we know is not an uncommon name for a Caperton. The document however may reveal that the fathers name was actuall Samuel Jeremiah Caperton, which of course is of considerably more value if trying to determine which Samuel you are looking at. This collection should expand pretty quickly as there are quite a few Birth records in the Caperton Society Archives, however please if you have a birth certificate that you would like to add to the archives do not hesitate to send it in to me!
