Well, it has been a bit of a challenge but I have sorted out the bulk of the technical issues that were keeping the Collections section closed.I have had to totally rebuild each collection to get it to work with the new software. So, while I was at it I also significantly improved the qualite of every image as I rebuilt the collection! I have completed work on the US Censuses for 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840 and 1850. I have also finished work on the first of the UK Censuses - 1841. The War of 1812 and US Births and US Deaths are also back online and I have added a button to these last two collections that will allow you to PDF not only the transcription but also the source record! This is a beta so let me know what you think and if there is interest I will build the link into other collections as well. Next up will be the rest of the Censuses (US and UK) and the US Marriage Records, followed by the remaining War records.

One thing that is very different from the old way of looking at Collections involves the image of the Source Record. In the past the record would pop up in a box for viewing. However this was causing resolution quality issues with the image. As such now the source record will open in a new browser window for viewing and downloading. I have also eliminated the icon of the image in most cases and replaced it with a button. This was mostly to streamline the pages and make it a little easier for me to code the pages.
