While Transcribed documents have been donated to the society for many years The Transcription Project was initiated during 2011 due to the large volume (over 400 pages!) of legal documents discovered relating to Caperton's, Particularly with regards to James Caperton (B-8) and his children which appear to have been a particularly litigeous group! There was no way one person could transcribe all these documents and still have a life!
Society Database Login
Much of the data available on the Society Website is delivered using a custom databse interface. Clicking on the Society Database Login link provides access to this Caperton Society Database. Access to this database is for Project Members only, that are currently adding records. If you are adding to or updating the Caperton Society Database records click this link and you will be taken to a login page where you will need to enter the username and password you were provided. It is important to remember that BOTH the username and the password are Case Sensitive.
Sharing the Transcribing Effort
The Society uses Google Docs to assist in the transcribing and sharing of documents between members. If you are a team member transcribing documents, and have been issued a CapertonSociety GoogleDocs username and password, click on the GoogleDocs link and you will be taken to the docs.capertonsociety.org login page where you will need to enter your GoogleDocs username and login that has previously been provided to you.
