The DNA Project pages have been updated to show the results of the DNA samples submitted so far. This Project is off to a good start. We have descendants from Adam and James but would like to see more from all of John's children. And if there are any Caperton's from England lurking out there, it would be GREAT to hear from some of you! I also have two more individuals that have requested information so it is starting to roll! If you want more information on this project, check out the project page and if you have questions use the link there to email me. Note that to see the results pages and the DNA Tree you will need to log in first. As for the 1810 Census, I have finally overcome at least partially a technical issue that was preventing me from linking the census extration to the image of the census page. I have developed a work around that for now will let you view the page by clicking on the thumbnail on the far right of the entry. I also have the images for the 1820 Census and hope to get that extracted and posted soon.

Great News! I have just received from the printers, the first batch of the softcover printing of The Caperton Family by Bernard Caperton. This is a reprint of the original book including all the pages and photos. Special thanks go to Bernard Caperton's daughters who authorized this reprint of the copyrighted original. The book is softcover to hold down the publishing cost. To have it reprinted in hardback was going to cost over $45.00 each. I have purchased a quantity sufficient to bring the cost of the softcover down to a bit less than $24.00 which includes shipping it USPS Priority Mail of $4.90. If you are interested please click on the 'Store' link in the top menu.

Also - I just sent out the first of what I hope will be a quarterly Caperton newsletter. This electronic version went out to everyone that I had current email addresses for. If you did not get a copy of it and are not registered, then by all means register and you will get the next one. If you ARE registered and did NOT get a copy of if then check your email spam filters and set them to allow email from the @caperton.info domain. Also if you are registered, once you sign in you can view current and past issues of the newsletter by clicking on the Login/Profile link in the top menu. Once you click that link you should see a menu appear to the left that has a "Newsletters" link.

I have updated the look and feel of the two projects associated with the Website. The DNA project is now sporting a "hi-tech" look in shades of Blue, while the Book Project is based on the color red.

You may also notice that they include the words "Caperton Society". Since 2002 I have called the website simply caperton.info. Additionally the site was managed by a group of one - ME. With the increasing amount of information and source documentation on the site being contributed by others, as well as my desire to include even more people in the process and make the website a kind of "homebase" for all things Caperton, it seems only natural that the Website have a more meaningful and inclusive name. As such, I am proposing that the site become "The Caperton Society"

I would very much appreciate feedback using the comments below to get your thoughts on this.
